Dear Supporters, Volunteers, Friends and Followers,
We were just notified that based on the latest guidance from public health officials, the mayor of Ocean City, NJ has canceled all special events through the end of April to limit the risk of transmitting coronavirus (COVID-19). This unfortunately includes the cancellation of the Doo Dah Parade and therefore Tri-State Basset Hound Rescue's Board
Waddle events are also canceled. Currently, we do not know if Ocean City plans to reschedule, but we will be speaking with our contacts from the city this week to find out more details.
We are absolutely heartbroken over this situation and honestly we are very concerned about what the rest of the year is going to look like for the rescue. The BoardWaddle is TSBHR's biggest fundraiser annually. We raise thousands of dollars over those 2-days in Ocean City and it literally sets us up to save 300+ Bassets and Basset mixes each year.
The dogs we save are local from the tri-state area, from various southern states and even from China! Without the thousands in donations coming from the BoardWaddle, we inevitably will have to stop our intake of hounds in need.
The board is working on a back up plan to try and come up with alternative fundraising efforts. We will keep everyone posted on these details. In the meantime, please consider donating to TSBHR or purchasing a BoardWaddle t-shirt so that we can continue our mission to save the lives of Bassets and Basset mixes.

Introducing Our 2020 Grand Marshal - Alfred Cromie
We are proud to announce our 2020 Board Waddle Grand Marshal! Leading the hounds this year will be a very special senior boy. Please give a warm welcome to Alfred Cromie.
Alfred was purchased from a Basset Hound Club of America registered basset hound breeder and has lived with Linda and Dell Cromie since he was 12 weeks old. Alfred has a big family and is lucky to live with his son Dr Gordon Freeman and his grandson Ralphie. When Alfred was only 10 weeks old he and one of his litter mates posed for the Hush Puppies website. Alfred is now 12 years old, he is deaf and he is a cancer survivor but that does not stop Alfred. His mom reports that he loves to go to work with his dad. He wears his own tie and even has his own executive leather chair that he refuses to share with anyone else. Alfred and his family care about the homeless hounds in rescue and pay it forward by supporting the homeless hounds in need. Congratulations Alfred our 2020 Grand Marshal for Tri State Basset Hound Rescue’s Board Waddle in the 35th annual Doo Dah Parade.
