BOOMER

Favorite things about your Basset (i.e., goofy grin, silly bark/howl, counter-surfer):
He's so friendly with everyone and dogs, he loves to play, loves to adventure to new places like beaches and parks, and he loves our boat! He also loves to play with our cocker spaniel and dachshund.

Challenges you faced and overcame:
He's a counter surfer for sure! We're working on it!

How do other people and animals react to your Basset?
Everyone loves him at first sight, the usually want to know where we got him too.

What do you like to do with your Basset?
Long walks, play in the yard, and snuggle on the couch.

Please include any other comments:
Boomer is a basset hound/labrador retriever mix, he displays traits from both breeds. He loves to sniff and retrieve too!

BIRDIE
BIRDIE

We adopted Roberta (originally Birdie) in April of 2015 from her foster mom. She is a wonderful addition to our family. She loves going on long walks and meeting new dogs in the neighborhood. Her family spoils her(in a good way!) and she gives them plenty of love in return. She may make an appearance at the board waddle this year!

BELLA
BELLA

Bella is so sweet. She loves her new home and we love her. We have had her since October and she adjusted very well. Thank you Tristate Bassett Hound everyone was wonderful!

BERTHA

I adopted Bertha from Tri-State Basset Rescue in October of 2013. She is such a tremendous success story and I feel terrible for not sending a follow-up message sooner. When I first got Bertha, she had so many health problems, including terrible worms that took months to treat. For the first few months I had Bertha, she was sick, withdrawn and only wanted to sit on the couch and stare off into space. She was always sweet but seemed incredibly disconnected. Eventually, after my fiance and I continued to force love and hugs and kisses upon her, she started to respond. It wasn't an overnight change but now, two
years later, she might be the most affectionate dog of all time. And more importantly, she is HEALTHY AND HAPPY! In fact, people stop us on the street all the time to tell us how happy our dog looks. She has a pep in her step that attracts strangers and she simply does not have an aggressive bone in her body.
In short, Bertha is one of the best things that has ever happened to us and we love her beyond words. She enriches our lives every day and even though she doesn't talk, she tells us all the time how loved she feels. Thank you so much for bringing her to us. - Beth Rosner

BENNY B

We adopted Benny B in April 2014. He has been a joy from the very beginning! He took a little while to warm up to our family, but now he has made himself right at home! He gets tons of attention from all of us. He has formed a special bond with his new "mommy" and can not help but get excited whenever he hears her voice. He also loves going for long walks in a big open park near our home. He runs and does what we call the "Benny Bounce." He has been an absolute joy and we thank everyone at Tri State Bassett Hound Rescue who played a part in bringing Benny into our lives. We will be forever grateful for all of your efforts and for our Benny!
